Cardio, The Best Abs Exercise?
Written by Steve Samuel
Saturday, 21 June 2008

Most weightlifters don’t realize that the best exercise they can include in theirfree weight training program is cardio. Cardio is a great full body workout and without it, weightlifters are putting them in a difficult situation. Yea, nobody likes to do cardio but it must be done, even for weightlifters.

Cardio isn’t an exercise weightlifters like to do. Understandably so, cardio is boring and difficult and most can’t stand it. Some force themselves to do them to lose those extra pounds however very few use it to strengthen muscles. Although it isn’t an easy exercise, it can result in weightlifters obtaining better results quicker.

The muscle that cardio strengthens the best is the abs. Because the diaphragm moves up and down quicker when you have to breath faster, your abs get worked very hard. The abs are attached to the diaphragm so for every breath, the muscles in the abs contract. By working harder at cardio, you’ll see the ripped abs in no time.

Cardio is a great health tool for the body but it can be a great tool for weightlifters. Strong abs are needed to strengthen the body and cardio strengthens the abs. So include cardio in all yourfree weightlifting programs.

Laminated Floors For The Home
Written by Karl Stadler
Sunday, 13 April 2008

Laminated floors are manufactured in a manner, which makes it tremendously resistant to wear tear, stains and fading, and are good for people with pets. They are made of thin, cross-laid courses of wood (like plywood), so they also are not affected by moisture. They are quite easy to install in the house, and are manufactured to withstand moderate dents and scratches and can be easily cleaned without using any other waxes or primers needed to maintain hardwood floors.

Laminated flooring is just so easy to take care of, you can't do anything but love it. It is installed on a thin piece of foam without nails or glue. It is just perfect for every type of premises, and is actually one of the flooring designs that is closest to the parquet flooring designs. Laminated flooring is a new type of floor that resembles the look of wood, but you can get it for a lower price.

Laminated flooring is really a big photograph you can walk on, and is made from synthetic materials combined with natural ingredients and decorated. It is great for an active family, one with children and pets. Laminated flooring is an excellent choice for all your flooring needs and provides you with a wonderful selection of flooring for all your rooms, and is available in many different colors and styles, including walnut and maple! It is also easy to install and is safe to use in a hallway, kitchen, any family spaces, or even your bathrooms.

Laminated flooring is an option we highly recommend, and is very easy to maintain so placing it in an area of heavy traffic should not be a significant problem. It is fake wood-like flooring, i.e. It can look like hardwood floors in different shades, and is installed on a thin piece of foam without nails or glue, which makes installation fairly easy but can create a noisy floor.

Hardwood floors provide warmth, luxury and grandeur to any home. The flooring can be an excellent addition to any home, and wood floors for centuries have been well-regarded. Laminate flooring makes use of a manufacturing process that sandwiches a composite fiberboard material in between two sheets of melamine.

Hardwood or laminated flooring is also a practical solution if the occupant needs to use a wheelchair or walker. Kitchen Flooring lasts much longer but it needs refinishing from time to time. Laminated floors are known for their low cost, ease of installation and great looking features. They are resistant to most household 'mishaps' such as bleach and even cigarette burns.

Carnival Glass - The History
Written by Ed Glisson
Friday, 07 March 2008

At the time of introduction in late 1907 the carnival glass was called as Iridescent Ware. However, people started using the name carnival glass only after collectors in the 1950s began to refer to it as such. This innovative glassware made in highly patterned moulds had a vivid metallic sheen of changing hues on pressed glass articles. Iridescent Ware got the metallic sheen from a special spray of metallic salts on the glass while it was very hot.

Carnival glass is made as both functional and ornamental objects. This is an inexpensive pressed glass and found in a wide spectrum of colors. Sometimes glass workers refer this as dope glass because the process of applying the iridescent coloring to the surface is called doping. This was made in over 150 patterns and many different pieces from the year 1907 but since it did not command the prices expected it was subsequently discounted.

This glass is made in many translucent colors like primarily amethyst, marigold, cobalt, green, and red. It is also made in opaque white, which is referred to as milk glass. Before the hazards of radiation were well known, the glass was also made in semi-transparent or translucent pale green and was named as Vaseline or uranium glass. Vaseline glass and uranium glass contain traces of uranium salts in the glass which can make a faint green glass glow in reaction to UV light.

One of the largest producers of this kind of glass was Millersburg glass Company, Ohio. The first glass products of the company were crystal, but the Millersburg plant decided to ride the wave of enthusiasm for iridescent glassware. Thus, in early 1910, the Millersburg Company brought out its line of Radium glassware

The prices of Carnival glass vary widely depending on their quality and availability. This glass is a highly collectible item with some of the pieces worth very little, while other, rarer items command thousands of dollars. There is a very active market for this item since it has become an antique glass collectible.

Identification of carnival glass is very difficult task. Most of the manufacturers did not include a maker's mark in their product, while the others did so only for part of the time they produced the glass. To identify this glass, one has to match patterns, colors, sheen, edges, thickness, and other factors from old manufacturer's trade catalogs, other known examples, or other reference material. Since many manufacturers produced close copies of their rivals' popular patterns, identifying it is a challenge even for an expert.

Carnival Glass Bowls On Their Way Back
Written by Darren Fielder
Thursday, 06 March 2008

Carnival glass bowls form a part of a larger set of collectibles called carnival glass. Carnival glass is an inexpensive pressed glass to which an iridescent coating is applied or sprayed on, giving it an oil-like sheen. The process is known as doping, and hence the term "dope glass" was given to this particular form of glass. Being initially produced in the early 1900s the sales started to fall in the late thirties.

The glass manufacturer Fenton is the first, largest and widely recognized producer of carnival glass. To start with, this company decorated blank glass produced by other companies. In 1907 they started creating carnival glass. Fenton marketed its glassware immediately after starting production as "Iridill" or iridescent ware. This became popular and many other companies followed suit by making and marketing their own carnival glass bowls.

The demand for their products began to decline in the late twenties. The reason for the decline was the decreasing sales during the depresion and partly also due to the saturation of the market by glass companies. To reduce the dead stock companies began to sell their wares at deeply discounted prices to carnivals, which was used by the carnivals as prizes in their games. During this period many companies shut shop.

Known as "carnival glass" by glass collectors, the popularity of carnival glass bowls surged in the 1950s. Originally used as carnival prizes, today reproductions are made by several companies. Fenton glass in particular is a prized collectible and the most frequently manufactured.

If you're looking for carnival glass, your best bet presently would be auctions, antique shops or online for various prices. Fenton antique glass in particular fetches high prices, along with other popular carnival glass. Marigold and dark hues - such as blue and green - are some of the most common colors. Red pastel colored carnival glass bowls are the most prized and expensive variety. One rare ice-blue colored plate in particular sold for an amazing $16,327.55 on a popular auction website!

For the would-be collector, there are many resources full of information available. Many websites and books are available for information on the many shapes and sizes these antiques come in. There are even organizations for would-be enthusiasts, which is a great way to learn more.

Carnival glass bowls are a highly collectible type of glass. They were produced by covering glass with an iridescent, shiny coating. The largest producer of carnival glass was Fenton. Fenton glassware quickly became popular, and other companies started producing carnival glass as well. Due to market saturation and the Great Depression, demand for carnival glass declined sharply in the late 1920s. Today, antique Fenton glass in particular is sought after by collectors, with red and pastel colored pieces considered the most valuable. Many resources are available for those new to collecting, such as websites and books with information on the various types of carnival glass.

Rare Baseball Cards Can Still Be Found!
Written by Ed Garon
Friday, 29 February 2008

Collecting baseball cards is a hobby that many people enjoy in life. Coming across a card that they don't yet have in their collection is just about the most exciting thing to a collector. Vintage cards the more rare cards are the ones most sought after by collectors and, of course, they have much more monetary value.

Most of the old baseball cards are re-productions but a few are still made from the original material. Now these cards are quite valuable as there are only a few of these cards ever seen in public. A few baseball cards can mean approximately 100 or less. The price of these cards is usually based on the availability and of course the condition of the card within the market.

Many rare baseball cards are those of very recognizable players that had spectacular and even historical baseball careers. Cards of players like Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle and even Honus Wagner are among this group. These cards were collectables even during the time these players were actively playing the game and are even more valuable today.

Most specimens of rare baseball cards have flaws- worn edges, rounded corners, even creases. These imperfections are usually not the result of the card being abused so much as the result of the cards being made of low-quality material, which wasn't expected to last for many years. Most of the customers buying the cards were children at the time and certainly didn't expect to keep the card forever, so they usually didn't try to protect the card from wear.

There are few rare baseball cards available in any condition, and thus any of these cards, even in severely damaged condition, will cause a great deal of excitement among collectors. There are so many collectors who want to see a T206 Honus Wagner card, for example, and so few of those cards exist. As a result, intense bidding will occur whenever any of these cards is up for sale at a public auction.

Topps and baseball cards go hand in hand. When a trader thinks baseball card they think of Topps. Topps first produced card sets in 1951 this set was oriented towards the game and it was a Black and Red set. It was in 1952 when the modern trading card was brought to life. This card set is the most revered of sets. Collectors marvel at the 1952 sets history.

Topps baseball cards sets were continued to be produced by Topps since long back and today it continues to build on its tradition. With the help of latest technologies and with a variety of brands in its stable The Topps company is in the forefront for bringing the next generation of baseball trading cards.

Most collectors, even serious ones, cannot afford to deal in Wagners and Ruths. The average collector would be wise to invest in MLB cards from the 1970's. These cards, featuring players such as Mike Schmidt, Carlton Fisk, Steve Garvey, Dusty Baker, and others, have greatly increased in value over the years.

Although their value continues to increase, most people can still afford to buy MLB cards from the 1970s. Many of the most valuable cards are available for less than $300. However, with the increased growth potential, collectors could sell them for much more in the future.

Silver Dollar Coins: Prized Collectibles
Written by Nora Emory
Thursday, 28 February 2008

Many people enjoy coin collecting as a hobby, particularly collecting and trading silver dollars. These days, silver dollars coins are quite rare. Some people are quite excited when they find one and consider it a treasure. Others see them as a dollar and have no problem spending it.

The Morgan dollar coin is a silver dollar minted originally in the late 19th century, with Miss Liberty's face and an eagle on either side. A nickname for the coin is the "buzzard dollar" because of the somewhat gaunt look of the eagle, which looks more like a buzzard. Nonetheless, they are rare coins, as the last was made in 1921, and it's uniqueness makes it a treasure to own.

There are some people trade coins to enhance their collection. Collectors may have a coin that is needed to complete a collection, so they will inquire about what they need from other coin collectors and offer up what they have. To trade dollar coins, one needs to possess a rare coin of your own. Most collectors have multiple dollar coins, including duplicates, so they never lose the coin for their own collection.

Silver dollar coins can be beautiful. Ones made of almost pure silver are worth more and are obviously better looking than those made of mostly copper. The United States Government has issued commemorative silver dollar coins, as well, which are released for limited times. Collectors usually save a few of these coins to trade or keep once they are no longer being produced.

A coins value increases the older and rarer it is. If you have an extremely rare coin, it does not matter what condition it is in. The condition of a coin will matter more if it is less rare, and the better it looks, the more money it will bring in. A Morgan Dollar that is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition commands a lot of money because it is both a rare coin and in perfect condition.

The best thing to do if you are considering collecting and trading silver dollar coins, is to do lots of research. As with anything, the more knowledgeable you are about the subject, the more power you will have when working with coins.

Collecting and trading silver dollar coins is a hobby many people enjoy. Such coins are rare nowadays and finding them may seem special to some. For others, a dollar is a dollar and when a silver coin comes their way, they simply spend it! Morgan silver dollars were placed into circulation in the late 19th century. The production of morgan dollar coins was stopped by the US government in 1921 and are now highly prized collectibles. Collectors usually trade dollar coins and other collectible coins for coins of similar value or mostly just because they want to upgrade their collection.

Tankless Heaters - Efficient And Space Savings
Written by Randy Bohlmann
Tuesday, 26 February 2008

One does not use the hot water 24 hours a day. But, one ends up paying to heat water 24 hours a day. With a standard water heater, one heat and reheat the same water even when he is not using it.

One cost effective manner to get hot water throughout your house is the Bosch Powerstar device without a reservoir. It works rapidly, and provides almost limitless amounts of water at your desired temperature. Your bills are also lower, as only the water is warmed, not the tank and immediate atmosphere.

A demand hot water heater doesn't heat water until it is needed, which results in lower energy costs and greater efficiency. A tankless water heater will usually last for at least fifteen years, and its life can be extended even further with just a few easily obtainable replacement parts.

Conversely, the traditional storage water heaters don't last for nearly as long. Regular maintenance to your heater can be highly beneficial to how long your heater lasts and can maintain its efficiency level for as long as possible. Tankless water heaters work by an electric, gas, or propane heating section that is activated by water flow.

When the heater is turned on it provides a steady supply of heated water with the maximum flow rate determined by the capacity of the heater and the temperature chosen by the user. Gas water heaters typically have greater maximum flow rates than electrical tankless heaters.

Tankless water heaters obtain their maximum flow rate at the point when the target maximum temperature is met. Standard water heaters (tanked) lose energy heating the water when waiting for usage by the consumer. This is not the case for tankless where its efficiency is much higher because it is only heating the water as needed. During usage the temperature can be changed by the user to meet their needs.

When shopping for a tankless water heater the dealer should provide a number which corresponds to the maximum amount of outflow while still increasing the water temperature a given amount. Many such devices also include an indicator allowing one to define the water temperature at the spigot. These devices use much less energy than their conventional counterparts, in part because there is no wasted heat when the unit is not in operation.

Hot water heating can be costly. A cost-effective and waste-minimizing way to heat your home is the Bosch Powerstar Tankless Water Heater. It quickly arms water and is capable of generating large volumes. A demand hot water heater only heats water when you need it, instead of constantly. This is more efficient and cheaper. Average lifetime of a tankless water heater is fifteen years or more, when properly maintained. Tankless water heaters are more efficient than their tank type equivalents. When you want to buy a Bosch Powerstar tankless water heater, the dealer will inform you about the technical details and the special devices available to save energy.

Necessity of Safety In Boating
Written by Bill Brennan
Tuesday, 26 February 2008

Boating in general is regarded as a leisure activity of traveling by boat, that are found to refer to the amateurish use of boats whether power boats, sail boats, or yachts, large vessels, focused on the travel itself. However, boating is also regarded as a unique sporting activity that is involved in the sports of fishing or waterskiing. Due to the presence of these highly interesting sports, there is no doubt that boating is indeed an extremely popular activity in the international arena, and in general there is the availability of three millions of boaters. Whatever it is, if you are interested in the sporting activities of boating you need to know about safety measures. The reason is that due to the absence of safety measures, there have been many unfortunate incidents in the world, leading to a great number of casualties.

What are these safety measures or equipments? The first of these happen to be the Personal flotation devices (PFD) or Lifejackets. In the realm of the United States of America there is the requirement of one approved Type I, II or III PFD for each person on board or being towed on water skis, etc.; and one throw able Type IV device. A type V PFD may be used in stead of wearing a PFD as long as it is approved for the activity in which it is being used. A type IV lifejacket is required for all boats over 16ft, which is a Throw able flotation device. NOTE; Coast Guard requires special PFD's for children under 12 and wearing them on deck is mandatory, whereas for Adults wearing is only recommended. What is the necessity of these types of life jackets? It is to be noted, that these types of life jackets are found to provide the best buoyancy. Besides, they are found to be effective for all waters, especially open, rough, or remote waters where rescue may be delayed. These life jackets are specially made to turn someone to a face up position if they are unconscious for any reason. While the adult size provides at least 22 pounds of buoyancy, the child size, 11 pounds, minimum.

There is also the requirement of good sound signals. Every vessel 39.4 ft (12 meters) or larger in length must carry a whistle or horn and a bell. The whistle must be able to be heard up to one half mile away. The mouth of the bell must be at least 7.87 inches (200mm) in diameter. However you do not need to carry a bell if you are operating on international waters. Every vessel less than 39.4 ft (12 meters) in length must carry an efficient sound producing device. Not only this, there should also be the presence of suitable fire extinguishers. If the boats are found to be less than 16ft, there is the need of one B-I type approved hand portable fire extinguisher. At several times large boats, ranging between 26ft to 40ft are used. In those cases there is there is the requirement of two B-I type or one B-II type approved portable fire extinguishers. To conclude, there is also the requirement of other essential features to ensure the notion of safety while boating, but these happen to be the most important.

If you’re a bad sailor like me, then you will probably prefer to learn to play billiards then going boating. These billiard techniques will have you playing and winning in no time.

DVD Portable Players: What Should You Look For?
Written by Eric Sheed
Monday, 25 February 2008

Families going on vacations either by car or by air would like to spend their time peacefully watching movies or family memoirs using DVD players. For such persons, portable DVD players are a boon. In the market, a large number of portable DVD players are available with special features and these are convenient for any user.

The first thing one considers when choosing between DVD portable players is the size of the screen. A player with a built-in screen is compact and perfect for the road. Usually, larger screens are better, and smaller screens could hurt the eyes after prolonged periods of viewing. Although the players with larger screens can be more cumbersome, the larger screen allows more people to watch and makes for a better viewing experience.

One more thing to take into account while selecting a DVD player is the available audio and video outputs. High quality output, such as S-Video or component video, and optical audio out will enable the best possible movie experience with your player. Should you choose a small player without a built in screen, the available video out are a fundamental issue to consider.

HDMI-out (High Definition Multimedia Interface) gives high definition video resolution and high quality sound on DVD players. HDMI is available on some newer models of DVD players, but usually those DVD players which are used solely for home entertainment, as HDMI DVD players are not small and portable and therefore not suitable for in-car players etc. HDMI is available on some more expensive laptops, but these are not easy to find.

has a unique crimson touches for its accents

think it given how exquisite the pieces are. If a guest or child accidentally breaks a carnival glass tumbler, many retailers

can quickly replace the piece from their on-site inventory. As ruby dinnerware sets are unique and breathtaking without

remaining too rare or expensive, it is important for retailers to ensure that replacement options are available to ensure the

continued beauty and completion of your collection.

a creative touch by accenting the settings with pieces from their green glass dinnerware. Ruby glass lends itself to being

complemented with other glass dinnerware, and allows you to provide a theme to special occasions. One example is using blue

accents to help celebrate the American Fourth of July Holiday.

During the winter holiday of Christmas, this design is more effective and welcoming. When you showcase the sparkling glass

with glowing candles and a crackling fire the traditional red and green motif gets an appreciated update. Your decorating

efforts will be noticed by your guests and appreciated while sitting at the table together.

More than all, it is really important not to forget that your dinnerware must be shared at the dining table with the people

you love. Most owners carefully keep their china collections hidden, not to break or chip the single pieces, but remember

that the point of buying a beautiful and timeless ruby glass dinnerware is to be able to use it to create lasting memory.

Very few pieces of china can match the beauty of ruby glass dinnerware. The colors are rich and elegant, and the sense of

sophistication is unmatchable. Many replacement pieces of such dinnerware are available if necessary, and for a reasonable

price. Green glass dinnerware, as well as other colors, may be used to accent the ruby glass. A carnival glass tumbler for

each diner can further the impression of opulence. This dinnerware is meant to be used, not stored away in a dusty china

cabinet. Your family and guests will appreciate this glassware when they see it and use it.

Ornamental Glass in the US
Written by Menachem Green
Monday, 18 February 2008

Ornamental and other heirloom glasswares have held countless families spellbound. We are struck at why such skill and artistry seem to be so difficult to fathom. Among the collections that have continually engaged our eyes is carnival glass. Those who think they are too novice or amateurish to get anything will quickly realize the genius in this craftsmanship, considering the iridescence and wide range of colors that these practical ornaments are capable of showing off.

The most popular of the iridescent glass patterns is the fenton carnival glass that reached the height of popularity in the 1900's. Other types of clear glass dinnerware remain a collectible niche to this day. Collectors also remain interested in the product of a competitor, northwood glass. The iridescent glass appeared to have a metallic luster and sheen and was very unique in appearance. The pieces were originally sold in dime stores across America, but after sales decreased and popularity waned, it was sold in bulk to carnivals. Remember that the glassware is fragile, and must be treated carefully.

Handling Stress for the Everyday Woman
Wednesday, 17 October 2007

Everyday stress is normal for women. No matter what you do for a living you stress your body to the maximum; Working, cooking, cleaning, catering to your kids demands and your spouse's. There is always something that is pulling you in different directions. You handle everything that comes your way and by night time you probably can't get to bed soon enough. The result of a busy life leaves you feeling tired, unappreciated, and out of shape. You eat on the run and you take care of yourself last. Does this describe you? If it does there is good news for you. You can change today and it is really easy to do and the cost is minimal.

Relax

I know that this is easier said than done but you need to take a few minutes out of your day to relax. It may be something as simple as sitting at your desk chair with your eyes closed and taking slow deep breathes, just don't do this while driving home. You may be able to put everyone to bed and then go take a hot relaxing bath at home. Every family is different and you need to be able to adjust to the difference. There are plenty of ways to relax for a few minutes you need to find those few minutes and use them wisely. Read a book, listen to your favorite song, rub lotion on your aching feet, lay down for five minutes, and okay ten. What ever it takes you can do it.

Get Plenty of Rest

Resting gives your body time to heal and maintain your all around health. Without enough rest you may feel tired and less likely to do everything that needs to be done because you simply run out of energy half way through your day. You may find that you do only what you need to do and nothing more. Because of this you may cause a domino effect with things piling up on you which may soon become overwhelming. This may lead to additional stress that could have been avoided by going to bed at a decent hour.

Take Care of Your Mind, Body and Spirit

The mind, body and spirit should be cared for as a unit or a whole. They work together to keep you motivated and able to get through every part of your day. If one part fails to work completely it will leave you feeling incomplete, unable to finish certain things or you may even feel like something could be wrong. Know your body and what you are capable of. To take care of your mind, body and spirit as one you need to realize what it takes to keep them all working together. You need to clear your mind, keep your body healthy and enjoy a hobby or something that makes you feel good about yourself.

A Positive Attitude

Handling life's problems can bring you down very easily. If you allow something about your day to make you feel bad your mind may wonder, not able to concentrate on anything. You may not eat right and take care of your body, or you may feel emotional which affects your spirit. As you see one problem can cause a domino affect on your entire being. Is There a Leader in You?
Tuesday, 02 October 2007

In life, there are leaders and followers. How do you know if you have the potential to become a leader? Together, we will explore what it takes to become a leader and how to tell if you have the qualities necessary to become that leader.

In order to have followers, there must be leaders. Some people are quite happy in their role as followers. But others strive to be leaders – whether on a personal level within the family realm or on a social or business level. Not everyone can be a leader, though. Leaders possess certain qualities and know how to use these qualities to stand out in a crowd.

What exactly is a leader? A leader is simply a person that leads others. For example, in your extended family, your grandfather may be the person that everyone in the family looks to for answers and that leads the family in important decisions that may affect the entire family. At your job, there are leaders – from department heads to team leaders. How did these people become leaders? They possessed the qualities that made them stand out from the rest.

What are the qualities of a leader? The most important quality of a successful leader is communication. A leader must be able to use effective communication skills on many levels – he/she must be able to communicate with the people he/she is leading as well as with people outside the realm of his/her leadership. An effective leader must be able to communicate in a clear, concise manner so that all parties involved in the communication understand the message that is being delivered. For instance, a parent is a leader in the home – in order for children to learn and implement tasks and chores, the parent must be able to effectively communicate with the child so that the child understands exactly what is involved and exactly what is expected of him/her.

Honesty is another very important quality of a good leader. You must be honest, not only with yourself – but with all others that you interact with. As a leader, everything you do or say is being observed by the people that you lead. If your followers (or children in a home setting) see that you are honest in every situation, they will follow in your footsteps and learn to treat others with honesty.

A good leader knows that actions speak louder than words. Have you ever heard the old saying, “Do what I say – not what I do!” How effective do you think this saying is? Whether your leadership role is on a family level or a business level, the ones that you are leading watch what you do – and if it is okay for you to do something, they will feel it is okay for them to do the same thing. For example, if you are a leader on your job, and your employees witness you taking home a few office supplies here and there, thinking the company will never miss them – your employees will then feel that it is okay for them to do the same thing – and soon it may get out of hand and brought to the attention of upper management. As a team leader, you may be expected to confront your group with this problem knowing that all along the problem began with you. So, in effect, a good leader not only talks the talk, but also walks the walk.

A good leader also possesses the following qualities – the ability to motivate the people that you are leading, the ability to stand up against critics, a visionary outlook for the team that you are leading, ability of time management and consistency in all you do. In a home setting, one of the hardest things to get children to do is homework – but, with the right motivation, children will willingly do their homework and do the very best that they can. In a leadership role, it is the parent’s responsibility to inspire and motivate the children by showing them how doing their best in their homework and schoolwork will directly benefit them. Consistency also plays a key role in the effectiveness of your leadership – both on a family and a business level. For example, rules should be consistent as well as the consequences for breaking rules. The rules and consequences must be the same for each person – or your leadership role will break down.

These are just a few of the qualities that you need to become a leader. Whether or not you actually become a leader is dependent upon your desire to be a leader and your ability to learn and implement the qualities that are necessary. Even if you have been a follower all your life, you can become a good leader by observing and implementing the qualities that you admire in the leaders around you.

The modern hot tub explained
Monday, 01 October 2007

I think most of us can appreciate the need for some quite relaxation after a hard and stressful day. Some opt for the benefit of a quick drink as an ideal way to wind down. However why not choose a more healthy and invigorating alternative that will literally soak your stress away? One of the best uses you can make of your outside space is to install your own hot tub. Imagine just laying back and washing away the troubles of the day.

The Romans built baths because they believed in the value of hot springs. There are numerous water healing facilities available. Hydrotherapy is one of the oldest, inexpensive and safest methods for treating many common problems and bringing stress relief.

Hippocrates advocated drinking and bathing in spring water for its health giving properties as early as the 4th century B.C. Healing with water or hydrotherapy has been used throughout Europe since pre Christian times. There are various different types of water healing facilities existing. Hydrotherapy is perhaps the longest standing, cheap and safest options for helping with many common problems and providing relief from stress.

Thanks to the Jacuzzi brothers; a huge hot tub and spa industry with many manufacturers has grown for our benefit. These brothers also realized the benefits of moving warm water early on and developed a pump that would become the jets in a regular tub. We have them to thank. The hot tubs of today are extremely high tech and know just where to place the jets for optimum relief.

The most modern tubs can be customized to include televisions, lights, music and more. You can even install a remote control that will turn on the tub and get the water warm from anywhere with a cell phone; now thats convenience. You might consider the style of hot tub that offers seating in a vertical position. You dont always want to be in a lounging position. Spas and hot tubs are good for whole body treatments and the water should come to shoulder level for maximum stress relief. A hot tub is soothing to the nerves and helpful for bladder and urinary problems, mild colds and low fevers. A dip in the hot tub should last at least 20 minutes.

Hot tubs operate by the circulation of warm water and air via a number of high powered jets that provide muscle stimulation and a general relaxation of the whole body. The high power jets are cleverly located to provide relief to various muscle groups at the same time.

The jets can be concentrated to target a certain body area in a similar way to that of the hands of a massage therapist.

The undeniable benefits of hydrotherapy and the improvements in technology have resulted in a massive explosion in the sales of hot tubs and spas. Now is the time to take the plunge and get yourself a hot tub. Create your own oasis of calm in a hectic world today!

Annuity Life Care Plans
Tuesday, 25 September 2007

As someone involved in investing for retirement, one of the options that’s fallen by the wayside is the annuity program. Annuities used to be the only life care program available; the creation of Independent Retirement Accounts and Roth IRAs and employer managed 401(k) programs.

When factoring the three variables of Security, Liquidity and Rate of Growth, most annuities are a good mixture of assets and are an excellent asset preservation tool for a retiree.

Annuities are purchased from investment brokers, who take your purchase price and put them into a low-risk investment pool. With several billions in aggregated investments, these can get excellent rates of returns. Most annuities are invested into state and municipal bonds or funds of state and municipal bonds, with some anchored by Treasury bonds. When you purchase an annuity, the investment broker will run through actuarial tables, factoring in your age, your health risks, family status and a bunch of other factors. From the perspective of the investment counselor, the purpose of an annuity is to make a small profit for the company and there are several factors tied into this.

In terms of Liquidity, annuities are not particularly liquid. You’ll get a monthly payment for as long as the annuity runs and that payment will never adjust for inflation. When purchasing an annuity keep in mind that with a 4% inflation rate (roughly what the US has as an average), prices will double by the rule of 72. Divide 72 by the inflation rate and you’ll find out how long it’ll take for prices to double. This translates to a doubling every 18 years. (As a cross check, if you look at the price of a hamburger now, versus what it was in the late ‘80s, you’ll see that this holds true decently well.) As a result, look at how much the annuity will be paying you towards the end of the term as opposed to the beginning, to get the best utility for your own use.

Annuities tend to have low rates of growth; in fact, they’re not so much a wealth generation investment too as a tool to disburse your wealth while you’re freed from the hassle of managing it. Most annuities have interest rates to preserve the payments in the realm of 4-6%. This works well for hedging against inflation, but not for generating new wealth from your existing assets. As the final step in getting the benefits of a retirement portfolio, annuities are one of many tools worth considering.

Annuities do have the benefit of being mildly tax deferred. The interest they accrue before they mature isn’t taxable until you start pulling money out of them. Annuities are also worthwhile purchases if you know you’re going to have recurring monthly medical expenses. It’s a comforting feeling to know that your health care each month is covered.

Like all investments, annuities are tools and not panaceas. Carefully weigh all your options when considering one.

2 Surefire Ways To Maximize Your Adsense Earnings
Tuesday, 04 September 2007

Most webmasters know that Adsense generates a sizeable source of additional advertising income. That is why most of them use it to go after high paying keywords. They have with them the lists that tells what the keywords are and have already used various methods of identifying them. And yet, after putting up these supposed-to-be high paying keywords into their pages, the money they expected to come rolling in is not really coming in.

What is it that they are doing wrong?

Having the pages is with the proper keywords is one thing. But driving visitors to those pages is another matter and often the factor that is lacking.

The thing is, to get visitors to your high paying keyword pages, you need to optimize your site navigation.

Stop for a moment and think about how visitors are using your website. After a visitor has landed on a certain page, they have the tendency to click on another page that sounds interesting. They get there because of the other links that appears on a page that they initially landed on. This is site navigation. It is all about enabling visitors to move about your site. And one way of maximizing your Adsense earnings.

A typical website have menu links on each page. The wording on these links is what grabs a visitor’s attention and gets them to click on one of the links that will take them to another page of that website. Links that have “free’ or “download” are oftentimes good attention-grabbers.

This navigation logic can also be applied to driving traffic to your high paying pages. There are some websites that are getting a lot of traffic from search engines, but have low earnings. The trick is to try and use come cleverly labeled links to get the visitors off that pages and navigate them to the higher earning ones. This is one great way of turning real cheap clicks to real dollars.

Before you begin testing if this same style will work for you and you website, you need to have two things. Something to track and compare and some high earning pages you want to funnel your site traffic to. An option is to select a few of your frequently visited pages. This is ensuring fast result to come by.

Now, the next thing to do is think of ways to get visitors viewing a particular page to try and click on the link that will take them to your high earning pages. Come up with a catchy description for that link. Come up with a catchy and unique description for the link. Think of something that people do not get to see everyday. That will trigger their curiosity enough to try and see what that was all about.

You can also use graphics to grab your readers’ attention. There is no limitation to what you can do to make your link noticeable. If you are after the success of your site, you will do everything it takes just to achieve that goal. Just be creative. As far as many Adsense advertisers are concerned, there are no written and unwritten laws to follow regarding what they write. Just as long as you do not overstep the guidelines of the search engines, then go for it.

Also remember that it is all about location, location and location. Once the perfect attention grabbing description has been achieved, you have to identify the perfect spot on your page to position that descriptive link to your high paying page.

There is nothing wrong with visiting other websites to see how they are going about maximizing their site navigation. “Hot pages” or “Most read” lists are very common and overly used already. Get to know the ones that many websites are using and do not try to imitate them.

Another way of doing it is to try and use different texts on different pages. That way you will see the ones that work and what does not. Try to mix things around also. Put links on top and sometimes on the bottom too. This is how you go about testing which ones get more clicks and which ones are being ignored.

Let the testing begin. Testing and tracking until you find the site navigation style that works best for you site.

When to Perform Rose Propagation
Written by Chad Cook
Thursday, 11 January 2007
As a beginning rose gardener, you may have heard the term rose propagation, but not really known what was meant by it. Propagation is the term used for reproduction in gardener's terms, and you can propagate roses either by seed or by taking a cutting from your existing rose plant.

Rose propagation has a long and rich history. Nothing much has changed in terms of rose propagation since the early 1800's when American settlers took rose stems with them into the west. You may even recall your mother or grandmother placing a cane from a rose in the ground, then covering it with a plastic jar to encourage growth.
