Handling Stress for the Everyday Woman PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 17 October 2007

Everyday stress is normal for women. No matter what you do for a living you stress your body to the maximum; Working, cooking, cleaning, catering to your kids demands and your spouse's. There is always something that is pulling you in different directions. You handle everything that comes your way and by night time you probably can't get to bed soon enough. The result of a busy life leaves you feeling tired, unappreciated, and out of shape. You eat on the run and you take care of yourself last. Does this describe you? If it does there is good news for you. You can change today and it is really easy to do and the cost is minimal.

Relax

I know that this is easier said than done but you need to take a few minutes out of your day to relax. It may be something as simple as sitting at your desk chair with your eyes closed and taking slow deep breathes, just don't do this while driving home. You may be able to put everyone to bed and then go take a hot relaxing bath at home. Every family is different and you need to be able to adjust to the difference. There are plenty of ways to relax for a few minutes you need to find those few minutes and use them wisely. Read a book, listen to your favorite song, rub lotion on your aching feet, lay down for five minutes, and okay ten. What ever it takes you can do it.

Get Plenty of Rest

Resting gives your body time to heal and maintain your all around health. Without enough rest you may feel tired and less likely to do everything that needs to be done because you simply run out of energy half way through your day. You may find that you do only what you need to do and nothing more. Because of this you may cause a domino effect with things piling up on you which may soon become overwhelming. This may lead to additional stress that could have been avoided by going to bed at a decent hour.

Take Care of Your Mind, Body and Spirit

The mind, body and spirit should be cared for as a unit or a whole. They work together to keep you motivated and able to get through every part of your day. If one part fails to work completely it will leave you feeling incomplete, unable to finish certain things or you may even feel like something could be wrong. Know your body and what you are capable of. To take care of your mind, body and spirit as one you need to realize what it takes to keep them all working together. You need to clear your mind, keep your body healthy and enjoy a hobby or something that makes you feel good about yourself.

A Positive Attitude

Handling life's problems can bring you down very easily. If you allow something about your day to make you feel bad your mind may wonder, not able to concentrate on anything. You may not eat right and take care of your body, or you may feel emotional which affects your spirit. As you see one problem can cause a domino affect on your entire being. Handling every situation with a positive attitude is easy, the more you do it. You can make a bad situation good if you handle it right.

No one else knows your body like you. Make the most of your knowledge and be in tune use what ever relaxation techniques work for you. Everyone has bad days you don't know how much you can take until you have had enough. Being around someone with a positive attitude makes it easier to handle any situation. Think positive.
